Our Travel Gear

Our Travel Essentials
We often get asked about the gear we use while exploring the world β so weβve put together a curated list of our favorite travel essentials to help guide fellow adventurers and content creators.
From cameras to drones and other must-have tools, this list includes some of the trusted gear we rely on for capturing stunning photos and videos on the road. While itβs not everything we pack, these are our go-to items with years of field-tested experience behind them.

Our Travel Camera
This is our current go-to camera for capturing the majority of our travel photography. While many of the photos on our website were originally shot with the older Fujifilm X-T2, we've since upgraded to the more advanced X-T5 model.
Weβre still exploring everything this powerful camera has to offer, but we love the stunning image quality and compact design of the Fuji X-series. It's a fantastic choice for travel photography β offering pro-level performance without the hefty DSLR price tag.
You can check out some of our photo samples in the Gallery!

Our Drone
The DJI Air 3S is our current travel drone of choice β and it delivers incredible value for its price. It captures crisp 4K video and stunning 12MP or 50MP photos, all while staying compact and easy to fly, even in remote locations.
We recently upgraded to the Air 3S, so many of the drone shots on our site were originally taken with the older Mavic 2 Pro, which also served us well on countless adventures.

Underwater Camera
For underwater adventures and action shots, we currently use the Insta360 Ace Pro. With its 1/1.3β³ sensor and noticeably improved color accuracy, itβs been a big step up from our old GoPro Hero 7.
Since this is a recent upgrade, many of the underwater photos on our site were still captured using the GoPro β but moving forward, the Insta360 is our go-to for vibrant and detailed action footage.

Dry Bag
We absolutely trust the 30-liter Earth Pak dry bag β itβs been a reliable companion for protecting our electronics during some of the most extreme and unpredictable conditions, especially while island hopping across Indonesia and the Philippines.
It's rugged, waterproof, and built to last. At this point, we honestly can't imagine using any other brand.

Hammock
This compact, foldable hammock is one of our favorite hiking companions. Itβs incredibly portable, easy to pack, and perfect for relaxing on the trail.
Weβve used it on some unforgettable backpacking adventures β including the legendary Kalalau Trail in Hawaii β and itβs held up beautifully every time.

Truck Tent
This Napier truck tent has been a game-changer for budget travel across the United States. Itβs durable, weather-resistant, and incredibly practical for long road adventures.
During one of our extended trips, we used this tent for 6 months, covering over 20,000 miles across 8 states β hiking, exploring, and capturing breathtaking scenery along the way. It kept us dry through intense storms and comfortable even in freezing 20Β°F (-6Β°C) mountain nights.
Oh β and it looks amazing set up too!

Travel Adapter
This compact travel adapter works in over 180 countries, making it a must-have for international trips. With 4 USB ports and 120W power, itβs strong enough to charge laptops via USB-C β no extra bricks needed.
We havenβt found a destination where it doesnβt work! And if you're looking for a more budget-friendly option, check out the reliable alternative used by one of our team members.
